Frequently Asked Questions

What is Permanent Make-up?

Permanent make-up is a cosmetic technique, also referred to as Cosmetic Tattooing, which implants colour into the upper dermal layer of the skin. This is a revolutionary beauty treatment used to DEFINE eyes, brows and lips to give a soft, natural finish that imitates perfectly applied make-up.

Who Should have Permanent Make-Up?

Those Who: * Apply make-up daily * suffer from Alopecia or other hair loss problems * are visually impaired * have thinning, sparse brows or lashes * play a lot of sports * suffer from allergies to conventional make-up

What Is The recovery time?

Normal lifestyle activities can be resumed after the treatment. There may be some redness and slight swelling but this usually subsides within 24-28 hours. During the healing process, the area may be slightly flakey and the final healed result of the procedure will be about 30-40% lighter than when first treated.

Does It Hurt?

Not usually. However everyone has a different level of sensitivity so topical aesthetics are applied during the treatment to alleviate any sensation or discomfort.

How Long Does It Last?

Each individual will respond differently to the procedure. You can expect it to last between 1 and 3 years.  In order to keep the look fresh, a refresher treatment is advisable every 12-24 months. More frequent refresher treatments may be required where a client has chosen a soft or light colour.

What Happens During A Treatment?

Before commencing any procedure we take time with each client to discuss their needs, answering any questions about permanent make-up they may have. A detailed consultation ensures that the end result suits the clients and meets their expectations. We will talk through the colours with the client,  choosing a colour to match their skin tone and hair colour. We will then draw the shape of the brow, eyeliner or lips to create a look that best suits the client. We will then carefully implant the pigment into the skin.

Is It Advised To Get Permanent Make-Up While Pregnant Or Breastfeeding?

Pregnancy hormones affect your blood circulation, which may make you're likely to bleed. Excess bleeding may need to subpar permanent make-up results since it could fade the pigment or impact its absorption into the skin. Some pregnant women experience hyperpigmentation (melasma),which is darkening of the skin around the mouth, cheeks and forehead. The colour chosen during pregnancy may not match your natural skin once the melasma goes away after pregnancy.
